Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan, or SOPEP, is a prevention plan carried on board oil tankers greater than 150 gross tonnes and any vessel greater than 400 gross tonnes.  The plan details event to be undertaken and a list of equipment which must be carried on board a vessel in the event of an oil spill.
